In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial I will show you how to make a dark web header menu.

1.
Start by dragging a square selection accross the stage as shown in the image below, then fill it selection with a dark color, black or really dark blue. (this will be your background, so you could also just fill the background layer).

Now make a new layer above the background layer, drag a new smaller selection inside and fill it with a lighter color.
double click the layer in the layers panel and give it settings as shown below.

Make a new layer above the other layer. Again make a new selection inside your frame you just made, go to select -> modify -> smooth and smooth the selection about 10 px to round the corners. fill it with the same dark color as before, as shown in the image.

Now double click the layer and give it settings as shown below.

Now you can make a text layer, give it some layers styles and gradients by double clicking the text layer and give it layer styles.

To seperat the menu buttons just simply delete small pieces of the small back square as shown below.
